Did you take all these macros at f/2.8 on a tripod or what? I am amazed how you can get the focus on with such thin DOF.
what IS that? It's bizarre...but so cool!
and this one's more colourful and messy :giggle:

I've found my tripod is more of a hassle than a help for the most part. I also found that if you really want a nice crisp focused image you need to be still, even if your shutter speed is fast, to get it in focus. That said, I mainly had my lens hood pressed on the rock (this was about 2/3m off the ground, so I had to half-kneel to get a decent angle and a background that looked nice) for most of the photos. This helped with the 1/40 sec. shutter speed, and yes, for depth of field purposes it was just about as good as one of those focusing rails specifically for macro work, because I could just move the camera back and forth in tiny increments.

Sorry, that was a really long explanation. Thanks for the comment.

Its little water droplets (I think it is dew) on these sprout things, which are on moss, which is on a rock. ;)

Yes. :)

I actually think I prefer this one, only because I really waited a while for the sun to come out from behind a cloud to get better light on it. I also had to move around a lot to get the nice green/orange background.

I don't know, I rather like messy things once in a while. ;)

Thats great, thanks for explaining... You've certainly got the hang of macro stuff a lot better than me.

Keep up the good work.
Thanks, I appreciate the support. :)
