Artist's Comments

I guess this doesn't look too realistic. I was trying to preserve sky detail and I guess that's pretty hopeless when you're looking right at the sun and trying to get a decently exposed foreground at the same time.

Post-processing was minimal on this, just pushed the contrast a little bit. I was using a hard-edge ND grad, but turned it upside-down and lined up the physical edge of it on the horizon because I needed a harder transition.

Anyway, that's it I guess.

It does look unrealistic only in the fact that the colors in the sky aren't reflected in the water. Perhaps a HDR next time?

Amazing. As always.

Before you critisize someone, walk a mile in their shoes. At least, you'll be a mile far from them AND you'll have their shoes...
i like how the sun seems to be bursting behind the clouds :)

Water movement and sunlight are superb :-)
Blahhh never! Haha I don't enjoy doing HDR because I usually end up compromising image quality. But next time I do a landscape I'll shoot it with the filters and then try an HDR without them and see which one is better.

Yes, it was much more amazing earlier, but by the time I had grabbed my camera and tripod and filters and run down to the beach it had lost some of its impact. I'm glad you still like it though. ;)
